GERMAN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR PAIRS - RUNNER-UP (VICE) CHAMPION OF
PENN TEAM GERMANY
The two Penn Team anglers Jan-Philipp Ulrich and Fabian Frenzel return to Germany from the Danish island of Langeland with a German runner-up title. They were only beaten by Team Bock/Hecht, and only by a very narrow margin. In the end, only one fish was missing. Ulrich/Frenzel already fished strongly on the first day of the competition and took first place in a very strong field of participants with tandem teams from all over Germany.
On the beach at Hesselbjerg on the south-west side of the island, mainly flatfish such as flounders, plaice and dabs were caught. The tandem had the right tactics and caught a total of 26 fish that day - more than twice as many as the second-placed team in their sector.
The next day, the anglers travelled to Botofte beach in the north-east of the island. Here, too, mainly flatfish were hooked. Several garfish and sea trout were also caught.
With the same number of fish, but with fewer fish points, Ulrich and Frenzel were narrowly beaten by their direct competitors. Third place went to the team Schulz/Kuczynski .
Frenzel was satisfied: Yes - the result was very close.
We are very proud to have held our own in this first-class field of participants. Especially when you consider that this was the first time we had competed together in a tandem championship. Everything just went so well. Jan-Philipp took his place in the team perfectly."
The next German Championships will take place in Denmark again next year. On the beaches of the North Sea in the Hvide Sande area, the anglers will once again be casting their rigs into the sea. Always hoping for the really big catch.
Penn Team Germany relies on the Tidal Elite in 4.50m length and the Penn Tidal XT8000.
